Since the announcement was made late last year that Topshop/Topman would be make it's appearance in Chicago, so many of my friends and fashion enthusiasts have been anxiously awaiting its arrival.  Well dear friends, it's here and yesterday I had the pleasure of shopping the racks and  getting a sneak peek early at the brand new Topshop/Topman store in Chicago before its grand opening today.

The store reminds me so much of its outpost in SOHO and its size is fairly comparable.  The Chicago location has 3 levels with the ground level welcoming shoppers with women's wear, accessories and make-up.  On this level you'll find tons of great pieces from maxi skirts, leather pants and sequin tops - all the items you would want for a glamorous night out.

Then the basement has more daily women's wear including petite, maternity and tall sizes, as well as a HUGE shoe section complete with functional flats to stacked loafer heels. 

Finally rounding out the top floor is Topman and personally that's where I had the most fun sifting through the racks. From oxford button downs in every color to soft tees and tweed sports coats, you would think that in the 3 story building there weren't enough stuff I would want to keep me distracted, but not the case.  I was just that excited about having great menswear options. 

In a nutshell, this store covers such a great variation of style that there's something for everyone.  I literally spent 2 hours wandering around selecting things to take home and did a once over to make sure I didn't miss racks from my first go around the store.  What I appreciated most though were the items made specifically for the Chicago store. It makes those pieces that much more appealing  (at least to me) knowing there's only a limited amount.  With items ranging from $20 - $200, it's hard to not leave the store with something great for yourself and your significant other (if you're feeling generous). 

If you're in the Chicago area, definitely check out this great addition to Michigan Avenue.  It's a great compliment to the new stores that have been popping up in the vicinity.  Don't live in the area?  Never fear, those of you that don't have a store nearby can still virtually shop with Topshop and Topman's online stores.
