Halloween, shmalloween. Yes, I do eventually end up dressing up and going out, but the only thing that gets me really excited about this time of year is going to the pumpkin patch. Something about spending a day out of the city and strolling through a farm helps re-energize me. It also happens to be one of the limited activities on my short list that Matt is willing to do and is genuinely excited about.
This year we took a trip down south to Settler's Pond to check out the farm animals and pick up a handful of pumpkins. Although pumpkins should be the main reason why we go every year, in all honesty it's just an excuse for Matt to seek out farms that have the best animals in the petting zoo....We went to Settler's Pond because they had a monkey and kangaroo. Although we had a great time, we were both bummed that we couldn't pet the monkey and the kangaroo just wasn't what I expected it to be. It was smaller and his rat like tail kept freaking me out. Despite my disappointment with the kangaroo, it was still a fun time at the pumpkin patch.

My husband and I went and got pumpkins a couple weeks ago. Usually we just buy from the farmers market since it is close to home, but this year we went to 'the country' for pumpkins and apples.
Gosh, I've never been to a pumpkin patch... ever! :( Maybe I should go this year before it's too late. Or there's always next year, right? :p
Love the floral dress + brown belt. Brown belts are seriously the most versatile accessories!

I can definitely relate with you ~ I'm not a huge halloween person, but I love fall! My mom used to try and convince me to dress up as something "halloweenish" (like a witch) but I refused, I hate dressing up to look ugly! ;-)
Ah, this weekend was perfect for that!! I'm not sure what my expectations of a kangaroo would be but good to know it might not meet them ;)
How fun! I hadn't even heard of Settler's Pond before. I bought my pumpkins at a bar parking lot this year (sometimes the city has it's shortcomings...), but I'll file that away for next year :)
awww you look so cute in your pumpkin picking outfit! I don't go to pumpkin patches because.. I don't use pumpkins. weird. I don't even actually make my own pumpkin puree, which is a shame because it's so easy to make.
