Here's a confession that I've recently admitted to myself. Being pregnant can sometimes feel really lonely. My husband is the most wonderful and supporting man - he is going to be an amazing father for so many reasons, so by no means am I on the pregnancy train alone. However, sometimes a girl needs her closest friends to get by and understand everything I'm going through. Just when I was starting to feel a little down, my friends did the most amazing thing to turn my mood around.
Last Saturday I woke up as I usually do, showered and got ready to go meet 2 girlfriends for brunch. Little did I know, I was walking into a surprise baby shower and was surrounded by a handful of my favorite ladies in Chicago. I'm someone that doesn't deal well when the attention is on me and being overwhelmed with joy I almost cried while I let it all settle in. I wasn't sad or un-happy, but just overcome by the fact that all these people were here to celebrate the arrival of little Liam.

I've had a hard time being pregnant in a city without any family or friends with kids to confide in. So this shower was exactly what I needed and it was SO much appreciated. I'm so lucky to have such great girlfriends in my life (near and far) and these ladies have really helped me overcome a lot of my pregnancy whoas and concerns, reassuring me that my own doubt about being a mother is all in my head.
Huge thanks to my friend Alexis for the wonderful pictures.

How special! You look like you're glowing and I can relate...having just moved I feel a little removed from my circle. If you ever need anything...you know where to reach me :)
