life (layhf) | self-portraits

Remember when taking self-portraits were so taboo?  I remember when I used to think that it was so vain when people did that, but honestly who was I to judge - I'm a blogger that posts outfit pictures, I can only imagine what people were saying behind my back.  However, it's funny how things can change in a matter of a few short years.  Not only are self-portraits more common, but it's expected and accepted.  After the initial judgement of it all, I think people started realizing that self-portraits are fun to do and honestly if you are having a good hair day or you just look damn good, why not flaunt it?  We're all in need of some reassurance whether we like to admit it or not right?

If you've never taken a picture of yourself, I challenge you to take one and share it with your friends on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.  You'll be pleasantly surprised at how much positive feedback you get and how much people will encourage you to do it again.

beau•ty (byoo-ty) | pixie

When it comes to my hairstyles I'm a big ol' chameleon.  Some people stick with the same hair style or length for years and dread the thought of chopping their locks.  While there's someone like me who always says, "It's hair.  It'll always grow back."  I'm one of those people who are very impulsive when it comes to changing my hairstyle and when I have my mind set on a hairstyle change, I need it done immediately.

After being obsessed with Ginnifer Goodwin's pixie cut and toying around with how it would look on my face, I finally bit the bullet.  My hairdresser Ashley had no idea what she was in for that morning and as always, she did a fantastic job.
