throwback thought ~ 10 songs that make you sing out loud

The best feeling is when you're driving alone in your car listening to the radio and a song from your past comes on unexpectedly.  A rush of nostalgic emotion bursts, you turn up the volume to full blast, roll your windows down (if weather cooperates) and sing along lyric for lyric at the top of your lungs.  Hearing those types of songs on the radio are rare occasions, but when it happens - it's the most liberating feeling and you can't help but embrace the moment.  Here is a list of 10 songs that regardless of what you're doing or where you are, you can't help but sing out loud.

throwback thought ~ you should never listen to mom

As a child and teenager, heck even in some moments of my adult life, I've always challenged my mother by rebelling against everything she said.  Now that I'm a mother, I can confidently say that there are times (not always, but moments) where I probably should have listened to my mother.

throwback thought ~ i want to be the breadwinner

At one point in my life, I wanted to be the only full-time working parent and my husband would play a role similar to Michael Keaton in Mr. Mom. What was I thinking?

throwback thought ~ price tags mean something

Growing up my mom was a Marshalls Maven even before the Maxxinista existed and I remember thinking, "URGH why can't I just buy clothes full price." It wasn't so much that I couldn't find cute things at Marshalls but more so that the price of the items meant something.  All I wanted to do was shop the non-sale racks – thinking that buying clothes full price meant that I was more fashionable.

Now, all I do is shop sales racks and this time it’s by choice.

throwback thought ~ being skinny is the end all be all

I used to think that being skinny was the answer to happiness - if I was skinny that meant I would get a boyfriend, be popular, be more confident because I could fit into clothes and that it automatically guaranteed a better life.  Truth be told, being thinner now makes me feel a lot healthier, but I can say that some of the most memorable days of my life were ones where I wasn't skinny (not even close).
